Ranking the five officially named fabrics by real-world character — how luxurious, versatile and forgiving the actual cloth is. In-game effects, if any differ, are Unconfirmed.

Decoration tiers
The four confirmed decoration types, ranked by how much visual identity they add per placement. Just as subjective as the fabrics.

| B | Buttons | Quietly essential. Buttons finish a garment rather than headline it — but Harder than it Seams (300+ accessories on one dress) suggests someone, somewhere, made a button dress. |
Why these tiers and not others
With no official numbers to rank, the honest axes are real-world character (luxury, structure, versatility) and confirmed in-game presence. Silk and velvet top the fabric list because grand occasions are the game’s stated commission driver; cotton sits at B not because it is bad but because nothing about it is rare. When official stats ever publish, this page gets rewritten around them.
