Dressmaker
cozy dressmaking, guided stitch by stitch
Dressmaker is a single-player cozy crafting sim from developer Cozy Lives and publisher Free Lives: choose fabric, cut out patterns, sew them together and satisfy (or sabotage!) the townsfolk. It released on Steam on September 21, 2026 for $14.99, on Windows and Mac. This is the unofficial guide, wiki and toolbox for it — every fact cited, every gap marked Unconfirmed.
One dress, five steps
- 01Choose fabricCotton, linen, wool, silk and velvet are officially named — and the store page promises a wide range beyond them.

- 04DecorateButtons, bows, appliqué and lace trims, placed with complete freedom.
- 05DeliverHand over the dress to earn reputation and coin — or hang it in your shop window and sell it off the rack.

What the official description confirms
Everything below comes straight from the official Steam store description. Anything you have heard beyond this list — fabric stats, customer personalities, hidden event details — is Unconfirmed until an official source states it.
A sketchbook before scissors
Design and colour your dresses in the sketchbook, pinning fabric swatches and appliqué ideas before you commit cloth to the cut.
Grain vs bias cutting
Arrange and cut out patterns on the grain or the bias; the way you cut is visible in the finished dress. Each panel can use a different fabric.
Mannequin preview
Check your patterns on the mannequin before you sew, so mistakes cost thread, not dresses.
Free-form decoration
Buttons, bows, appliqué and lace trims go exactly where you place them — there is no fixed decoration slot list.
Commissions — and sabotage
Townsfolk commission dresses for important occasions and personal tastes, and the store page teases that you can satisfy (or sabotage!) them. What sabotage does mechanically is Unconfirmed.
A shop of your own
Display finished dresses in your shop window and sell off-the-rack designs alongside commission work. And yes — you can pet the kitty.

Where these facts come from
This site is built from two official sources: the Steam store listing and Steam’s global achievement statistics. Everything they state is quoted or paraphrased with the source cited; anything neither source states — fabric stats, customer personalities, hidden achievement conditions — is marked Unconfirmed rather than filled in.
- Official Dressmaker on Steam (app 4019220) — The official store listing. Source of the release date (September 21, 2026), the $14.99 price, Windows/Mac support, language support (English, Simplified Chinese and Japanese with full audio), the single-player/casual-simulation classification, the named fabrics (cotton, linen, wool, silk, velvet), the decoration types (buttons, bows, appliqué, lace trims), the sketchbook, mannequin, grain/bias cutting, window-display and "satisfy (or sabotage!)" mechanics, and the official system requirements.
- Official Dressmaker — Steam global achievement statistics — Steam’s official global achievement stats for app 4019220, read September 2026. Source of the full 32-achievement list, each achievement’s official description (where one is published — hidden achievements show none) and the global unlock percentages quoted across this site.
